Prosthetics is the study, design, and fitting of artificial limbs, sometimes known as "prostheses." Prostheses improve the function and quality of life of people who have lost limbs. The prosthesis must be a one-of-a-kind blend of materials, alignment, design, and assembly.

Stability in standing and walking, shock absorption, energy storage and return, cosmetic attractiveness, and even running, jumping, and other sports activities may all be addressed with lower-limb prosthesis.
Prosthetic knee joints with electronic knee joints can now be customized for each patient. Patients with amputations now confidently walk down stairs and hills thanks to a computer chip that allows the knee joint to recognize changes in position, speed, and force. There are unique prosthetic feet for jogging, golfing, and swimming. Children's orthoses can be created with designs and colors to make them more enjoyable to wear.
Reaching and gripping, occupational demands such as hammering, painting, or weight lifting, and routines of daily life such as eating, writing, and dressing may all benefit from upper-limb prosthesis.
Electrically powered hands and elbows are common in arm prosthetics. Simple switches can be used to operate them, but sensors on the skin that detect signals generated by muscles (myoelectric signals) can also be used to control them. Microprocessors are utilized to analyze and process myoelectric data in some cases. Users of this type of "bionic arm" can pick up an egg with a delicate touch while also having the strength to grab a large object.
After a mastectomy, the number of women who choose to get a breast reconstruction has progressively increased over time. There are other possibilities if you don't want to have more surgery, don't have enough time to recover from one or more of the surgeries required, have other health difficulties, or simply decide reconstruction isn't for you.
A breast prosthesis is an artificial breast form that fits into a mastectomy bra and replaces the shape of all or part of the breast that has been removed. We have qualified female Orthotist Prosthetists at Chin and Partners who understand the psychological and physical concerns that follow a mastectomy. We will analyze and measure you to guarantee that your prosthesis is a great fit and shape for your needs.
